Help us continue the story!

You may remember “The Great Story Experiment” feature that we ran last year. Not familiar? We got a reader-submitted “story-starter,” basically an open-ended beginning to a story. Then, we asked our readers to send in installments that would continue the story until it reached a logical conclusion. It was pretty cool. Well, we're doing it again! Fifteen-year-old Brayden Harriman, who helped us with our last story experiment, sent us in another story-starter. Check it out:

I arise to a brutal awakening! I get up from my bed and go downstairs to find my family nowhere to be seen. There is not even a note. Breakfast is hot on the table. I assume that my parents left for work and made me a nice breakfast and think nothing of it. I get ready and walk to school, not seeing or interacting with anyone along the way. There is no traffic outside and it seems as if I'm the only one in the world. When I arrive at school, I find no one there. Suddenly I see a streak of light flash through the sky. . .

Now it's your turn, readers! Get your kids, friends or neighbors together and write us a second part to this story. Then, send it in to news@theconcordinsider.com, and we'll choose one to put in the Insider.

What's going to happen next?
