The Rev. Louise Bastille has served as interim pastor at East Congregational Church, UCC since February 2010. She will celebrate her last service with us on March 25. After the 10 a.m. service, we will enjoy a light luncheon in her honor. Please join us as we thank her for two years of loving leadership!
It is with great joy that we introduce Michael W. Lowry as our pastor-elect. Reverend Lowry was a pastor at Congregational churches in Houlton, Hallowell, and Scarborough, Maine, before accepting his last call at St. John's UCC in Dover, Ohio. He and his wife, Lisa, have missed New England are delighted to be back! Michael and Lisa have three children: Jake (24) lives in Portland, where he attends the University of Southern Maine; Sarah (20) attends Hope College in Michigan; and Zachary (17) is heading to college this fall.
Reverend Michael has a warm, outgoing nature, a twinkle in his eye and a compelling message, whether from the pulpit or through his music. He begins as the full-time pastor at East Church on April 1.
