Seeking volunteers

Do you enjoy nature? Do you enjoy helping people? The Little Nature Museum, located at Gould Hill Farm in Contoocook, is looking for volunteers who can help people enjoy and learn from the collections, exhibits, and activities in the museum. You would be showing visitors what there is to see and do in the museum, selling items from our small nature shop, and doing some minimal record keeping.

Training is provided. While in the museum you may be on your feet for long periods of time. If you volunteer in the museum, a minimum commitment of 18 hours during the season of June 23 – Oct. 28 is required.

Volunteers receive a year's membership in the museum, a complimentary luncheon at the beginning of the season when volunteers have the opportunity to meet each other and see the museum, a pot luck “thank you” dinner at the end of the season, their name and photo on a volunteer plaque in the museum and insurance for themselves and their visitors. Volunteers gain experience that they can add to their resume, receive credit for community service, increase their social skills, meet many interesting people, enrich their understanding of nature and hear visitor stories about their encounters with nature.

The Little Nature Museum Inc. is a federally registered nonprofit organization. It is open on Saturdays and Sundays, some holidays, and by appointment for special groups during the week. If you have questions or wish to receive a volunteer application, please send questions or requests to: info@littlenaturemuseum.org or call Sandra Martin, director, at 746-6121.
