Scholarship winner

Brett Branscombe was selected as Merrimack Valley High School's 2011 New Hampshire Red Sox Scholarship Award winner, which this year was awarded to graduating seniors in 25 select New Hampshire public high schools.

The award included a $1,000 college scholarship and a trip to Fenway Park on June 4, where the 25 winners were honored on the field in a pregame ceremony with the owners of the Boston Red Sox.

The award is designed to honor students who embody the best attributes of young leaders of “Red Sox Nation,” including academic achievement and a demonstrated commitment to others through community service.

In addition to his academic success as an honors student taking multiple AP classes, Brett has demonstrated a concern for others through his involvement with the Boy Scouts of America and the National Honor Society.

His many extracurricular activities including the Tri-M Music Honor Society and the Order of the Arrow underscore his commitment to our community and to improving the lives of others.

We are proud to honor Brett Branscombe as our school's 2011 New Hampshire Red Sox Scholar.
