To Fetch A Thief

Spencer Quinn

2010, 307 pages

Fiction

Chet is partners with Bernie Little at the Little Detective Agency. That Chet is a large, muscular dog does not detract from his detecting abilities at all. In fact, some of his skills are much stronger than Bernie's – for instance, when it comes to smelling and tracking people and animals.

The story is told from Chet's point of view, very realistically, and with a lot of humor. Chet and Bernie are on the track of a missing elephant trainer, Uri, and an elephant named Peanut. As usual, Chet's help is invaluable in the hunt for the missing man and pachyderm. Now, dear reader, there is a tiny bit of bad language (from the bad guys, of course), but just “bleep” over it, as I do, and you'll find yourself on a very enjoyable ride with the courageous, loyal, hardworking and handsome Chet (and Bernie, Bernie is all those things, too)! They make a great team.
