Stuff your face at Taste of Concord

You’re craving Italian, but not sure if you want to go to CC Tomatoes or Nonni’s Italian Eatery. Scratch that, it’s Mexican you desire, but can’t decide which salsa you like better – Margaritas’ or Hermanos’.

Thanks to the fifth annual Taste of Concord you can grab a bite from all four of these restaurants and more. The event will be held on Oct. 14 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Grappone Conference Center, 70 Constitution Ave.

Thirty bucks gets you all the food you can eat from the 30 restaurants that will be handing out samples of their most delectable dishes. Got a group of gourmands? Get 10 tickets for $250.

While munching on your morsels, peruse the silent auction or watch chefs Rick Dennison (Angelina’s Ristorante Italiano) and Scott Ouellette (O Steaks and Seafood) go head to head in the third annual Granite State Throwdown. During the culinary clash, Ouelette and Dennison will prepare a smoked meat and cheese dish as an appetizer and a veal dish for the main course. An esteemed and, if we may so say, rather attractive group of judges will decide who’s got the better dish. Judges include Brit Johnson (Concord Magazine), Carol Sheehan (“Food for Thought with the Taste Buds,” 107.7 The Pulse), Susan Laughlin (New Hampshire Magazine) and – ahem – yours truly.

All proceeds benefit the Concord Boys and Girls Club. So, if you’re trying to watch your weight and feel guilty about the calorie splurge, just remember: it’s all for a good cause.
