A free Christmas meal for all!

The Concord Community Outreach holiday meal is scheduled for Christmas Day. We are excited about the support received by local organizations and want to thank all who made it possible through their collective feedback and suggestions to provide meals to those in need this holiday season!

The meal will be held at the Grappone Conference Center, 70 Constitution Ave., on Christmas Day. Dinner will be served between 1:30-3:30 p.m. Leaflet flyers will be available for distribution to inform folks in need of the details regarding this meal, and are available by contacting Bethany Reed.

Public transportation is available by trolley or bus from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Pickup and drop-off location and times are:

– Bus 1: CAT bus stops in the Concord Heights along Loudon Road to downtown, including Concord and Royal Gardens apartments.
– Bus 2: Downtown area via Pleasant Street, South Fruit Street, McKee Square and South Street
– Bus 3: Penacook area, down Fisherville Road, to the Grappone Conference Center.

If the bus is outside of your coverage area, please call 225-0303 that afternoon.
We need volunteers! Please contact Roger Jobin at roger.jobin@nmfn.com for volunteering transportation and Bethany Reed at bedynamic@comcast.net for volunteering at the Grappone Conference Center on Dec.24 and/or Dec. 25. Please title the subject of your e-mail “Volunteer: CCHO.”

We currently need volunteers in three areas: Transportation for those who can’t get to the conference center or who are not on the bus route, distributing leaflets and posters to social service agencies, churches and shelters in the area and to work on the meal prep Dec. 24 and to help out with the Dec. 25 event.

Just to give you a sense of the help we need: kitchen prep, banquet room setup, buffet attendants, greeters/hostess, buffet/beverage/dessert attendants, stewards, servers and cleanup folks.

Please keep in mind that if children or family under the age of 15 also want to volunteer, we have some age-appropriate tasks at the Grappone Center. We will also have a room where volunteers can make Christmas cards to give to folks who attend the dinner.
