Working with local dairy farmers to make milk is all good in the Hood

You’ve no doubt seen the giant Hood plant on North State Street (if you haven’t, might we recommend updating the old prescription?) But what you might not know is a lot of what gets processed there comes from local farms.

According to Amy Hall at Granite State Dairy Promotion, roughly 50 New Hampshire farms provide milk for the Hood plant at any given time (the list is always changing), and Morrill Farm Dairy in Penacook has milk picked up for Hood every other day. Morrill Farm Dairy also has a location in Alstead where milk is picked up on a daily basis.

“A lot of New Hampshire milk goes to that Hood plant,” Hall said.
