Usher in 2015 with gala at Grappone Center

Concord’s semiquincentennial – it’s a big word, and reason for a big party, two and a half centuries in the making.

On Dec. 31, help Concord 250 and the Concord Family YMCA usher in the New Year at a gala event to kick off 2015, the 250th anniversary of Concord’s founding. Such a milestone deserves a humdinger of a celebration, and this one will surely be a night to remember.

The New Year’s celebration will be at the Grand Ballroom at the Grappone Conference Center from 7:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., and will highlight favorite decades throughout Concord’s 250-year history: the 1800s, 1920s, 1970s, 1980s, present day – and even the future. Come dressed the part in the style of your favorite decade, whether it’s an elegant colonial figure, a dapper flapper, swell 70s garb, awesome 80s duds, or even today’s black tie formal wear. Each hour community leaders and dignitaries will host, and historic entertainment will be provided.

The evening will also include dinner, dancing, complimentary champagne toast, The Dusty Gray Band and DJ Nazzy from 105.5 JYY, and a complimentary photo keepsake (courtesy of Concord Camera). Special room rates at the Courtyard Concord Marriott are available for $89 plus tax.

Get your tickets today, as seating is limited and reservations are required. Tickets are $75/person; $550/table of 8; $675/table of 10. You can purchase tickets at the Concord Family YMCA, Concord Camera, Merrimack County Savings Bank (89 N. Main St.) or online at concordymca.org/nyegala.

All proceeds will benefit the YMCA’s Annual Campaign, making quality child care and physical fitness accessible to everyone in our community, regardless of their economic status.
