Order bulbs from county conservation district

Bored of the same old bulbs you see bloom every spring in your perennial beds? A new color or texture will easily enhance your existing garden! The Merrimack County Conservation District’s fall bulb sale is just the place to find those beautiful bulbs to add a fresh look to your landscape.

This year we’re offering an assortment of daffodils, hyacinths, tulips, iris, alliums and specialty bulbs. All bulbs have a low hardiness zone to ensure that they will survive our frigid New England winters. A number of offerings are excellent plants to promote pollinators in the area. Whether you’re starting a garden for the first time or looking to add a new variety to your mature landscape, consider supporting your local conservation district for your bulb planting needs. You can download an order form, color guide and bulb description guide on our website at merrimackccd.org or call the office at 223-6023 to have one mailed to you.

Orders will be taken through Sept. 9. People will be able to pick up their orders on Friday, Oct. 2 at the MCCD office (10 Ferry St., Suite 211, Concord) from noon to 6 p.m. and on Saturday, Oct. 3 at the Concord Farmers Market from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Just in time to get those bulbs planted before the first severe frost.
