Go down the Merrimack with Five Rivers Trust

Clear your schedule for Sunday, Sept. 7, to join a paddle trip on the Merrimack River hosted by Five Rivers Conservation Trust, Merrimack County Savings Bank and Quickwater Canoe & Kayak.

Starting at 11 a.m. through noon, boaters can launch their boat at the Merrimack County Farm in Boscawen for a 10-mile paddle down the Merrimack to the Quickwater location, on Hannah Dustin Drive at the Canterbury/Concord town line. The trip should take three to four hours of paddling. Refreshments will be available, but all participants should bring plenty of water and snacks for the trip.

Participants can bring their own boat or rent one, as well as life jackets, paddles, and other materials, from Quickwater (quickwatercanoe.com). Each paddler is responsible for making their own arrangements for a boat. Quickwater will provide a free shuttle to transport participants back to their cars at the end of the day, making logistics for this trip simple.

To pre-register for the paddle, send an email to Julie Pifer at jpifer@5rct.org or call 225-7225. The trip is free, but contributions to Five Rivers at the check-in will be gratefully accepted.
