The Friends of the Audi gave out their two special awards at a ceremony late last month, honoring Mark Goldstein with the Golden Pineapple Award and Karen Devoid with the Friend of the Year.

The Golden Pineapple “honors the quiet behind-the-scenes volunteer work which keeps our Audi affordable and accessible to everyone and a center of the everyday life of this community,” the Friends of the Audi said. It’s also a pretty sweet trinket to display.

Goldstein was recognized for 23 years of dedicated support to the community, starting with the very first efforts to preserve the stage, from 1991, when he resolved one of the first major problem of finding high-wire workers to paint the ceiling, to 2014, when he resolved the latest major problem of restoring the water-damaged historic plasterwork.

Devoid was named Friend of the Year for her long-time leadership efforts with the Audi’s Perennial Exchange, which for 14 years has “transformed the streetscape, helping our summertime roadways grow and glow more beautiful with every passing year.
