Cookies raised some extra dough

For the second year in a row, The Common Man restaurants teamed up with the Girl Scouts to create a dessert mixing a Girl Scout cookie with homemade ice cream from The Common Man.

Lemon Chalet Swirl Ice Cream, made with the Girl Scouts' Lemon Chalet Creme cookie, vanilla ice cream and a lemon swirl, was on the menu for one month at 14 Common Man restaurants. One dollar from every dish ordered went to Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains, for a total of $450.

The Girl Scout Cookie program is the leading financial literacy program for girls, where they learn salesmanship, marketing, money management and goal-setting, among other skills. Proceeds from each $3.50 box sold remain locally to support more than 100 programs, camp, troops and inpidual Girl Scouts, who earn “Cookie Dough” for activities and camp.
