City briefly

Each week, City Manager Tom Aspell does a million bicep curls to sculpt himself up. That’s a lot of work, though, so he just paper maches himself instead to become a city memo sculpture. Here it is, in two-dimensional format!

Is Indiana Jones coming?

Archaeologists dig the city

Much of this week’s work on the Main Street construction project will be happening around the State House Plaza, Aspell writes. Yesterday, a team of archaeologists dug in the area in front of the State House arch, following a report that Jimmy Hoffa and some dinosaur bones were hanging out down there. What were they actually looking for? “They’ll figure it out when they find it!” Aspell said. Crews will also be working on placing conduit and irrigation in sidewalk zones. Today, crews will be preparing areas for light poles and digging trenches for electrical conduit. Wednesday through Friday, electrical work will continue, as well as grading at the plaza. We’re hoping we get an A+.
