Tuesday
Ah, to be a kid again. Remember when your biggest concern in life was which color Play-doh to play with?
Well, you can take a trip down memory lane and re-live those good olโ days at The Childrenโs Place and Parent Education Centerโs open house.
From 4 to 6 p.m., have fun with Play-doh, blocks, painting, dress-up, a sand table, jumping area, kitchen, library and puppet theatre, along with refreshments and a raffle for a free birthday party.
The Childrenโs Place provides educational support services for families with children under the age of 6 (sorry, single 30-somethings).
Oh yeah, and itโs all free.

Wednesday
Have you ever made a spoon? Oh really, so have we. We do it all the time.
But our guess is that most people know nothing about this art form.
Luckily, thereโs a golden (or should we say silver) opportunity to learn all about it.
This monthโs Wednesdayโs Wisdom Pot Luck at the Kimball-Jenkins Estate is โThe Zen of Spoonmaking with Dan Dustin.โ
The goal of Wednesdayโs Wisdom is to bring fascinating speakers to a diverse group of greater Concord residents. Canโt get much more fascinating than learning about spoonmaking.
This is a pot luck and BYO (wine, beer or other drinks). It starts at 6 p.m.
All of those details add up to a pretty good evening, if you ask us.
For more info, call 225-3932.
Everyone loves a good laugh, right? (Hopefully you didnโt just passionately yell โNo!โ)
Good, because hereโs your chance to CATCH a great night of comedy right here in Concord.
Itโs called CATCH Comedy Night, and it goes down at the Capitol Center for the Arts at 7:30 p.m.
Put on by CATCH Neighborhood Housing, this will be an evening of electoral mockery, scandal skewering and buffoon lampooning with the Capitol Steps.
We donโt really get into politics much here at the Insider, but if it involves buffoon lampooning โ one of our favorite pastimes โ weโre in.
For more info about this night of hilarity, call 225-1111 or go to ccanh.com/event/capitol-steps-0.
Thursday
Weโre already three days into this column, and there still hasnโt been a single mention of any live music. But donโt worry, that doesnโt mean thereโs nothing going on.
The Bachโs Lunch series at the Concord Community Music School continues with โSide By Side: Broadway Duos,โ a concert featuring Sophie Shaw, soprano, Ellen Nordstrom, mezzo-soprano, and Kathryn Southworth, piano.
The concert begins at 12:10 p.m. and is free and open to the public. You can bring your lunch, and donโt worry, youโll have plenty of time to make it back to work.
For more information, call 228-1196 or visit ccmusicschool.org.
In other music-on-Thursday news, Concord Community Music School will put on a student recital at 7 p.m. Itโs a free show open to the public, so thatโs not too bad.
Also, you can catch The Tenors: Under One Sky at the Cap Center at 7:30.
If you budget your time just right, you may just get to see all three shows. Talk about bragging rights around the water cooler.
Friday
How about an art exhibit all about enamel?
No, weโre not talking about the stuff on your teeth โ although thereโs an idea.
Weโre talking about โAlchemy III: Transformations in Enamelโ at McGowan Fine Art.
The show kicked off in February and will run until March 18, and itโs split between the League of New Hampshire Craftsmenโs main headquarters and McGowan Fine Art.
Gallery hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and thereโs not many days left to catch the show.
For more info, call 225-2515 or go to mcgowanfineart.com.
Pianist Gregg Pauley will present the eighth of nine concerts in his Beethoven Project, โThe Late Sonatas,โ at the Concord Community Music School Recital Hall at 7:30 p.m.
The program will be followed by a reception featuring chocolate. Need we say more.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for students and seniors.
