Red River Theatres is pleased to announce the launch of Popcorn & Pacifiers, a new weekly film program designed specifically for caregivers with children under the age of two.
Beginning Tuesday, July 7, Popcorn & Pacifiers screenings will take place every Tuesday at 10 a.m., offering an opportunity for parents, grandparents, and other caregivers to enjoy first-run films in a welcoming and family-friendly environment.
Recognizing that many caregivers face challenges attending the movies with young
children, Popcorn & Pacifiers creates a relaxed setting where infants are welcome, and
caregivers can enjoy a current theatrical release without worrying about disturbing other
moviegoers.
To better accommodate families, auditorium lights will remain at half brightness
throughout the screening and films will be played at a quieter volume, allowing caregivers
to comfortably tend to their children as needed. The atmosphere is designed to be flexible
and supportive, making it easier for families to experience the joy of cinema together
during the earliest stages of parenthood.
“The early years of parenthood can make even simple things like going to the movies feel
difficult. We wanted to create an opportunity for caregivers to enjoy a film on the big screen in an environment that understands the realities of having a young child with you.
Sometimes it’s nice to just get out of the house and do something for yourself while still
having your little one by your side,” said Angie Lane, executive director of Red River
Theatres.
This program is open to caregivers accompanied by children under two years old. Films will
be selected from Red River Theatres’ current first-run offerings and will be announced
weekly as part of the theater’s regular schedule. Standard admission rates apply for
caregivers; children under two are admitted free.
