For more than 30 years, the Concord Kiwanis Club has supported the NHTI Paramedic Program, specifically as it relates to pediatric trauma training. Infants/toddlers and young kids are not simply small adults and need specialized handling.
The Kiwanis Club is a non-partisan, non-denominational group that strives to strengthen communities, with a focus on children. The club, a nonprofit organization, supports local scholarships, high school volunteer clubs, sports team sponsorships and more.
Investing in equipment to treat this specialized trauma for young children fits with the mission of Concord Kiwanis. The equipment purchased includes neonate medical wrap, a neonatal restraint system and a pediatric restraint system. All of these are used by local EMS agencies as required by state protocol.
