The Granite State Ringers, a Concord-based handbell choir, is pleased to announce its Holiday 2025 Concert Series, entitled โA Thousand Lights Are Lit,โ featuring concerts at Living Hope Church in Laconia on Dec. 6, at Star Theatre in Kittery, Maine on Dec. 7, at Sandown Town Hall on Dec. 14 and at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Peterborough on Dec. 20. Led by director Joan Fossum, this holiday concert series will delight attendees with classic favorites as well as some new selections sure to please.
Granite State Ringersโ small ensemble, the Garage Bell Band, has also announced its
holiday concert series, โPeace.โ Performances will be at Leach Library in Londonderry on Dec. 12 and at Kingston Library in Kingston on Dec. 13.
The Granite State Ringers was organized as a community handbell choir by Mary Divers and Joan Fossum in February of 2007 with the mission of promoting the art of handbell ringing. The choir is made up of ringers from communities throughout New Hampshire, southern Maine and northern Massachusetts. They perform on five octaves of Malmark Handbells, six octaves of Malmark Handchimes and four octaves of Schulmerich Handbells.
Granite State Ringers rehearses two or three times a month at their studio in Concord and also periodically offers classes in handbell ringing for both new and experienced ringers.
