Pembroke City Limits will be screening the documentary “Gone Guys” on Tuesday, Sept. 30 at 7 p.m. Presented by Filmmakers Collaborative, the 45-minute film examines how over the past fifty years, boys and young men have steadily disengaged from school, work and broader society. They’re falling behind academically, struggling with loneliness and isolation and facing rising rates of substance abuse and suicide. If you teach, work with, know or are a young man, we would love to have you with us and join in a discussion following the screening. This is a FREE event but registration is encouraged: https://www.eventbrite.com/myevent?eid=1685604591709

Set in rural Vermont, this documentary draws on the influential work of Richard V. Reeves’ “Of Boys and Men,” illuminating these challenges through powerful data and compelling personal stories. Many of us have experienced these issues firsthand, but it can be difficult to talk about them. It’s not an either/or choice. Caring more about boys and men does not mean caring less about women and girls.
