Meet Emma Toma, September’s Young Professional of the Month. Based in Concord, Emma serves as a senior office administrator at Mason + Rich, P.A., where she keeps operations moving smoothly and takes pride in being a reliable resource for clients and colleagues alike. With a background in music, 29-year-old Toma brings a spark of creativity to her personal and professional life. Emma’s story is one of building confidence as a young professional and giving back to Greater Concord.
Q: Tell us a little bit about yourself and what you do. I currently work at Mason + Rich, P.A. as a senior office administrator. In my role, I wear many hats! I help clients with their questions, keep projects on track and assist staff with questions. I also work closely with our directors to support operations and ensure the office functions smoothly. Over time, I’ve picked up a wide range of skills in this role. At the heart of it, I enjoy being a go-to resource for both clients and colleagues.
Q: Why do you choose to live in the Greater Concord area? My husband and I absolutely love Concord! It’s the perfect small city with a strong sense of community, and working with local businesses has given me the chance to experience that community firsthand.
Q: What is something you would like to see added or brought to Concord?
I would love to see a summer outdoor theater/concert venue! One of my favorite places to go is Prescott Park in Portsmouth, where their summer arts festival shows create such a fun atmosphere and a strong sense of community.
Q: Where did you go to school? I’m originally from the Lakes Region, where I attended Alton Central School and Prospect Mountain High School. I continued my education at NHTI and later graduated from the University of New Haven with a BA in Music and Sound Recording.
Q: Favorite places to be? I love spending time at Sewalls Falls, the State House lawn, and exploring the many parks around Concord.
Q: What do you like to do for fun? I like to play music and go to concerts all over New England. I grew up playing video games and still love them to this day. My husband and I also like to travel to different places on cruise ships!
Q: How did you find out about Concord Young Professionals Network and how has it benefited your business or you personally? I first learned about CYPN through my work at Mason + Rich. Being part of CYPN has helped me step out of my comfort zone, connect with a wonderful community, and become more confident in my networking skills.
Q: If you could visit any country, where would you go? I would love to visit Japan!
Q: Tell us a few interesting facts about yourself! I earned my bachelor’s degree in Music and Sound Recording and originally wanted to work in a recording studio. I love the work I’m doing now, though! In my free time, I enjoy playing guitar and piano, and I occasionally record music. It’s something I’d love to dive back into more seriously someday.
