The Community Players of Concord will soon hold an information night and auditions for their fall production, “The Addams Family Musical,” a comical feast which embraces the wackiness in every family. The show features the beloved Addams Family characters struggling to adjust when the now-grown Wednesday, the ultimate princess of darkness, falls in love with a “normal” young man from a respectable family.

Imagine the chaos that results when he and his parents are welcomed to a dinner party in the Addams home! “The Addams Family Musical,” the first mainstage production of the Players’ 98th season, will be performed on November 21 – 23 at the Concord City Auditorium. It will be directed by Betsey Cox-Buteau, with musical direction by Michael Shaw and choreography by Allyson Thorpe.

This will NOT be a typical Players audition. Auditioners will be asked to register in advance by completing an online audition form prior to audition night. Those interested in auditioning are strongly encouraged to go to https://communityplayersofconcord.org/auditions-addams-family-musical for audition requirements, the registration form, synopsis of show, character descriptions, audition sides, preferred musical audition pieces and an audition dance video.

There will also be an Information Night, an ideal opportunity to register for auditions, learn more about the show, meet the creative team, and learn the dance steps. Information Night will be held on Monday, August 11 from 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the Community Players’ Studio at 435 Josiah Bartlett Road, Concord. The directing team will be there to talk about the show, and the audition dance will be taught.

Auditions will be held at the Community Players’ Studio on Sunday, August 17 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m for children (who appear to be ages 10-13 onstage) auditioning for Pugsley (boys with unchanged voices and girls who will play a boy are welcome) and 6-9:30 p.m. for adults and again Monday, August 18 from 6 – 9:30 p.m. for adults. Please make every effort to arrive at the start time. If needed, callbacks will be held on Wednesday, August 20 at 6:30 p.m.. Detailed information about audition requirements and character descriptions can be found at https://communityplayersofconcord.org/auditions-addams-family-musical.
