Donations needed for annual Concord Christmas tree lighting celebration

The 34th annual Concord Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration planning is underway. The event will be held on Friday, Nov. 29 by tradition with activities starting at 4 p.m. The committee needs to raise $8,000  to help offset the cost for the horse-drawn wagon rides, petting zoo, music, fireworks and lights. This event has become one of the premier holiday tree lightings in the state, drawing more than several thousand people of all ages. The Brian Waldron Band will headline the holiday musical entertainment this year. Brian has been coordinating the musical portion for over 10 years.

Please send a donation to Christmas Tree Lighting, PO Box 1482, Concord, NH 03302. This is a nonprofit event with something for everyone. More activities are being planned, however if donations are not met, then decisions will have to be made. Santa Claus will be making his first official visit to downtown Concord. Please contact Advisor Dick Patten at 496-2917 for information.
