Book of the Week: Not a book review, but a review of RB Digital, an app for reading magazines

RB Digital app

Online magazine reader

Available for iOS, Android and Kindle Fire

With 60-plus popular magazines to choose from, Concord Publi Library’s electronic magazine service through RB Digital has something for everyone. Some examples include Rolling Stone, Newsweek, Food Network, Highlights, National Geographic, ESPN and Cosmo. The magazines are always available, so no waiting in line, and there is no limit to the number of magazines that can be checked out. Users can borrow both the latest issue as well as back issues.

The RB Digital app is available for iOS, Android and Kindle Fire users, so readers can download and take the electronic magazines on the road. Once a user has created a free account through the library’s website, they can log in to the app to get started. The app keeps users logged in even after closing it, and offers a variety of features to make magazine viewing convenient and easy on any size device. View the pages with all of the ads and pictures just like in the print magazine, or strip out the images for easy smartphone viewing. A table of contents and thumbnail images allow for easy navigation. If you don’t have a mobile device, or prefer the larger-size screen of a laptop or desktop, the magazines can also be read online through the RB Digital website.

To get started, visit the library’s website and create a free RB Digital account. Next, download the app and log in with your new account. Library staff members are available during open hours to answer questions and help new users.
