While lesser cities might scale back the entertainment options as Thanksgiving approaches and passes, Concord ramps it up. This week you can check out Pat & the Hats when they play a Friendsgiving show at True Brew Barista, hear some stand-up comedy at Hatbox Theatre and take in a musical version of a classic ghost story at the Concord City Auditorium.

Some shows will charge a cover, depending on the venue and the act, so call ahead to check or just bring a few extra bucks with you.

Here’s the rundown.

Music Wednesday

Mike Walsh will get you ready for Thanksgiving at Hermanos Cocina Mexicana at 6:30 p.m.

Friendsgiving with Pat & the Hats and friends will take over True Brew Barista about 9 p.m.

Area 23’s weekly Open Jam kicks off the night before Thanksgiving at 7 p.m., then the Dr. Harp Blue Revue will take the stage at 9 p.m. for your holiday entertainment.

Friday

Electric Soup will make their Area 23 debut at 8:30 p.m.

Back to Back will perform at Makris Lobster & Steak House at 8 p.m.

Music Out of the ‘Box will present Frank Wallace at Hatbox Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Wallace plays music of 16th-century Spain with vihuela and voice along with original compositions for classical guitar. Tickets are $12 for senior members, $14 for members, seniors and students and $17 general admission. Go to hatboxnh.com to reserve yours.

Saturday

Matt Poirier will play for the dinner crowd at Hermanos at 7:30 p.m., which is an hour later than the weekday shows there.

Chad Verbeck will take the stage at Chen Yang Li in Bow at 8 p.m.

Whiskey Kill will rip it up at True Brew at 8 p.m.

Michael Graham will provide the soundtrack at Area 23 at 8:30 p.m.

The Capitol Center for the Arts will host Dueling Pianos at 8 p.m. This will be a high-energy, interactive and all-request rock and roll event. From Bon Jovi to Billy Joel, you make the requests and you sing along – lots of music, and lots of laughs in one of the most interactive shows to hit the stage. Dueling piano shows are request-oriented, interactive sing-along shows wherein two piano players sit across from each other and trade songs.

Tickets are $19 to $23, plus fees, and can be purchased at ccanh.com.

Sunday

John Franzosa will play at Hermanos at 6:30 p.m.

Monday

John Franzosa will do it again at Hermanos at the same 6:30 p.m. time slot.

Next Tuesday

Renowned guitarist and multi-instrumentalist Brad Myrick will jazz up the dinner scene at Hermanos at 6:30 p.m.
