Gibson’s book club to pick titles for next year’s reads

Every August, the Gibson’s Bookstore book club sits down as a club and chooses a year’s worth of books to read.

And it just so happens the group is getting together at the book store on Monday at 7 p.m. for their annual pow wow.

So if you have a book that you really loved and want to share – or saw a title that caught your eye and want a reason to read it, stop by the store on Monday.

Go with your suggestions, and be prepared to explain why you think the club should choose your selection.

There’s only room for 12 titles so be prepared to answer lots of questions about your choice. The great thing about a book is that if you really liked it, it won’t be that hard to get others hooked.

All are welcome, and newcomers are encouraged to attend. The book club is great in the aspect that they let you choose which months you participate, so you can join every single month of the year or just go during the months in which the titles interest you. There’s really zero pressure to be present at every meeting.

Club meetings – unless otherwise noted – are on the first Monday of the month, and begin at 7 p.m. which will give you plenty of time to have dinner and relax a bit before diving into some spirited conversation.
