The Merrimack County Stamp Collectors will hold its monthly meeting at the Bow Mills United Methodist Church, 505 South St., Bow, on June 20 at 1 p.m.
We invite all who are interested in stamp collecting to attend, share their interest, buy, sell and trade. Meet other collectors and learn more about their hobby and enjoy the fellowship of others with varied interests in Philatelic resources and issues. Storytime at Gibson’s Saturday
On Saturday, at 11 a.m. at Gibson’s Bookstore, there will be special storytime edition with children’s author Josh Funk, and his new book The Case of the Stinky Stench!
The cast of award-winning Lady Pancake & Sir French Toast, a thoroughly delicious picture book about the funniest “food fight” ever, are back.
There’s a stinky stench in the fridge – and our favorite foodie friends must solve a smelly mystery! Inspector Croissant begs Sir French Toast and Lady Pancake for help in finding the source of the foul odor. Could it be the devious Baron Von Waffle? A fetid fish in Corn Chowder Lake? Featuring delectable rhymes and wordplay – there’s even an actual red herring – and delicious art, this tasty tale is a treat for kids.

Jazz sanctuary on tap for Sunday
Jazz Sanctuary – First Church/Third Sunday will be back again this Sunday, but at a new time – 5 p.m.
“From Black and White to Technicolor – Disney Music as a Map for Spiritual Transformation!” is the theme. Vocalist and Pastor Emilia Halstead will be joined by The WildVine Jazz Sanctuary House Band in exploring the songs and subject matter of Disney movies as a reflection of the power of our individual and communal journeys of faith and where they can take us.

Master Chorale to perform Saturday
The New Hampshire Master Chorale will hold a spring concert on Saturday in the Eagle Square atrium.
The program, titled From Time to Time, ranges from the innocent hope embodied in a newborn baby to the funk and lustiness of youth, and from the dawning sense of life’s limitations in middle age to the poignancy of failing health and memory in the twilight years.
The centerpiece is a new commissioned work provocatively entitled Smoking, Drinking, Messing Around, featuring the poetry of Liz Ahl set to music by Jonathan Santore, the master chorale’s composer-in-residence.
This is the master chorale’s 14th season. The 31-voice chamber chorus holds a unique place in New Hampshire’s musical life.
The show begins at 8 p.m., with appetizers and cash bar beginning at 7 p.m.
Tickets are available at nhmasterchorale.org and at the door for $30, or $25 for seniors and $15 apiece for groups of 10 or more. Admission is free for undergraduates and students.

On Friday at 5:30 p.m., Concord poet Erica Bodwell will be at Gibson’s Bookstore to present her new chapbook of verse, Up Liberty Street!

Inside-outside yard sale Saturday
Grace Episcopal Church, located at 30 Eastman St., will hold an inside-outside yard sale on Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Lots of attic treasures, books, housewares, tools to go along with a bake sale, hot coffee and hot dogs, too. All to benefit the Take-a-Tote program that provides supplemental weekend food to elementary schoolchildren at Mill Brook School.

Poetry reading, open mic June 21
The Poetry Society of N.H. will sponsor a double feature at Gibson’s Bookstore on June 21 at 7 p.m.

Learn all about breathing June 20
Most people don’t think about breathing; it is an automatic, unconscious act. However, the majority of those with asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or interstitial lung disease are aware of their shortness of breath because it interferes with work or other daily activities. As a result, these individuals seek medical attention for diagnosis and treatment.
Breathe Easy: Relieving the Symptoms of Chronic Lung Disease, written by a pulmonologist Dr. Donald A Mahler, explains what constitutes normal breathing, what causes someone to feel short of breath and what can be done to improve one’s breathing.
In chapters on asthma, COPD and interstitial lung disease, Mahler addresses the origins and treatments of these conditions and offers advice for both standard and alternative therapies to breathe easy. Other chapters describe how we breathe, how to understand respiratory difficulties like chronic shortness of breath, the correct use of inhalers, the effects of aging on the brain and body and the benefits of exercise.
Mahler will be at Gibson’s Bookstore on June 20 to discuss his book at 5:30 p.m.
