It’s never easy to lace up the old roller skates and go for a cruise around the neighborhood.

You have to navigate traffic, watch out for debris in the road and, if you ever brave going down a hill, it’s going to be quite a task to get back up.

But don’t worry, soon you won’t have to  worry about any of those wild cards when working on your moves on eight wheels.

On Friday, Everett Arena will be opening for the roller skating season, which will consist of Friday and Sunday nights for a little more than seven weeks.

Public roller skating will be held on Fridays from 6 to 8 p.m. and Sundays 5 to 7 p.m. Adult skating – for ages 18 and older – is Fridays from 8:15 to 10:15 p.m., and Sundays, beginning at 7:15 p.m. and running till 9:15 p.m.

Admission is $5, and skate rentals are available for an additional $5. Skate rentals available are quad skates (four wheels).

Skating will be held each Friday and Sunday evening through July 30.

Private roller skating events and birthday parties can be booked by calling 228-2784 or emailing  jbardwell@concordnh.gov. Private events cost $100 an hour, plus skate rentals.

Maybe we should have the next Insider birthday bash there?
