The Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce’s Concord Young Professionals Network (CYPN) introduces you to our “Young Professionals of the Month,” Katie Mosher and Amanda Winders. Both were recently selected to help launch CYPN’s new Ambassador Program. CYPN ambassadors will play an important role at future networking events by welcoming and assisting guests, and by helping YPs build relationships in the community.

How old are you? 27

Where do you live? Beautiful downtown Concord!

Where do you currently work? Red River Theatres, Concord’s own indie cinema.

How did you find out about CYPN and how has it benefited your business or you personally? I learned about CYPN from then events and marketing manager, Angie Lane, right after I came back from 10 months of service with AmeriCorps NCCC. I don’t know if I took her up on her initial invitation, but I definitely got intrigued about the organization and getting more involved with other young professionals in my community. Red River Theatres has hosted two CYPN networking events since I started as events and marketing manager in July 2015 and CYPN is a great way to meet fun people, get involved in your community and improve your interpersonal skills (which I am all about, as an introvert in an extrovert’s world).

Greatest role model? Abraham Lincoln. He’s always been my favorite president, but the more I learned about him, the more I respect and want to emulate him. It’s a bit of a weird obsession, but Honest Abe is one of my faves – his leadership, his strength and his dedication to his country are all admirable, in my opinion.

What’s your favorite place to go in Concord? Red River Theatres! It’s my second home, pretty much. However, when I am not at RRT watching a movie or working, Dos Amigos is one of my go-to places for cheap but delicious eats, and I also enjoy a good beer at the Barley House. I also live in town, so my bed is my ultimate favorite Concord locale, haha.

What has been your favorite CYPN event so far? It’s hard to pick a favorite. I think one of my favorite CYPN activities were the candidate forums during the election season. It was awesome to have an opportunity to see the candidates up close, in person. Of those events, the Bernie Sanders event was my favorite, as he truly made an effort to connect with the crowd and he even answered my question!

Tell us a few interesting facts about yourself! I studied abroad in college and traveled to 10 countries, including the Republic of Kosovo. It was a whirlwind, incredible adventure. When I was about 1, I was in an antique-style baby carriage that collapsed. In the accident, I guess I bit down out of stress or something and I nearly bit my tongue off! They had to bring me to the emergency room and everything, I shared a room with an injured, escaped convict.

Amanda Winders

How old are you? 30

Where do you live? Pembroke.

Where do you currently work? Keller Williams Realty Metropolitan. I really love the educational process of helping buyers and sellers. It gives me a lot of satisfaction to prepare them up front so that the process is as smooth and painless as possible.

How did you find out about CYPN and how has it benefited your business or you personally? I discovered a CYPN event on the Concord Chamber of Commerce website when I was exploring new networking opportunities. I like how it’s a time set aside for being social with new people. Sometimes it’s too easy to get wrapped up in the business of being busy that we forget to connect and laugh with new folks.

What organizations are you involved with? CYPN and Sonshine Soup Kitchen in Derry.

Greatest role model? My trainer, Anna Cronin, at the YMCA in Concord. She courageously sets huge goals and accomplishes them, all with a contagious positive attitude.

What’s your favorite place to go in Concord? Live Juice for a Love Green juice, and then a stroll on Main Street on a crisp, sunny day.

What has been your favorite CYPN event so far? I really enjoyed the “Pound Rock Out” class, which was part of the Wellness Series. What a fun way to meet new people and get a great workout!

Who would you really like to meet? Julie Andrews.

Tell us a few interesting facts about yourself! I’m crazy about shih tzus – my little Lulu will be two years old in July, and having her in my life brings so much joy. I’m a big believer in “vitamin sea” and try to get near water at any opportunity. It’s just good for the soul. And after this winter, we’ve certainly earned it.
