Don’t miss Farmers Appreciation Night at the Audubon

Our farmers help keep our land and our communities healthy – help us say thank you!

Merrimack County Conservation District will be hosting a Farmer Appreciation Night on Feb. 7 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the N.H. Audubon McLane Center.

MCCD will be honoring the farms that have supported N.H. Gleans and helping to feed local families. The N.H. Gleans program takes excess produce from farms and gardens and brings it to local food pantries, senior programs and schools. Even with the drought, Merrimack County farmers donated over 13,000 pounds of food in 2016 distributed to local pantries by your local conservation district.

Come celebrate local agriculture and learn about the many exciting food access initiatives currently going on in the community. Hear more about New Hampshire agriculture from our guest speaker Lorraine Merrill, N.H. Agricultural Commissioner. Attendees will enjoy a buffet of locally sourced food and the short documentary, Food for Thought, Food for Life.

Cost is $15 and all proceeds go to MCCD’s local food programming. Secure your spot now and RSVP by emailing localfood@merrimackccd.org or call 223-6020.

Checks can be made out to Merrimack County Conservation District and mailed to 10 Ferry St., Suite 211, Concord, NH 03301. Payment will also be accepted at the event.
