‘Willy Wonka Jr.’ at Capitol Center

RB Productions will present Willy Wonka Jr. at the Capitol Center for the Arts this weekend.

Show times will be Friday at 7 p.m., and Saturday at 2 and 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 and available at the CCA box office or at ccanh.com.

Grange to host meet and greet

The members of Concord Grange No. 322 will host a meet, greet and eat on July 26 at Keach Park.

The Grange will be sponsoring a Nevers’ Band Concert at 7 p.m. Prior to the concert, Grange members will be serving free steamed hot dogs courtesy of Poison Pete’s at 6:30 p.m. Everyone coming will receive a free steamed hot dog, bag of chips, soda or water and home made desert items. Everyone is encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on the grass to enjoy the music.

For those interested, the Grange holds its meetings at the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, 48 Airport Road, on the fourth Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m.

Furniture masters reception Thursday

Join us for a reception and silent auction on Thursday at 5 p.m. to benefit the New Hampshire Furniture Masters Association and celebrate the NHFMA’s 2016 exhibition on view at the New Hampshire Historical Society. This event is free and open to the public.

Burlesque show at Hatbox Theatre

Hatbox Theatre will present Absinthe and Opium Burlesque and Cabaret on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $16.50, and $13.50 for members, seniors and students. Tickets are available by calling the Hatbox box office at 715-2315 or visiting hatboxnh.com.

Absinthe and Opium Burlesque and Cabaret is Concord’s only burlesque troupe. The troupe was founded in January 2015 by creative director and choreographer Jennifer Gordon and her partner Roman Sirotin, shortly after moving to Central New Hampshire.

Green burials at Dying to Talk Cafe

Concord Regional VNA’s monthly Dying to Talk Cafe focuses on green burials on July 27, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., at True Brew Barista in Gibson’s Bookstore, 45 S. Main St.

Monthly Dying to Talk Cafes give people the opportunity to breathe life into conversations about dying. Come and join experienced facilitators for coffee, tea and a relaxed, open-minded discussion about any number of topics related to the certainty of death. Participants are welcome to share thoughts and experiences with the group. Each cafe is offered by Concord Regional VNA Hospice Program staff.

Cafes are free and registration is not required. Refreshments are provided.

Piccola Opera to grace Audi stage

Piccola Opera will present “An Evening of Purcell & Puccini” on Friday and Saturday, at 7 p.m. at the Concord City Auditorium. The performance will present two one act operas, Dido & Aeneas by Purcell and Suor Angelica by Puccini. These operas will be presented fully staged with orchestra.

Thirsty Thursday at McGowan

McGowan Fine Art is hosting a Thirsty Thursday informal introduction to art this week with the opportunity to mingle with other art newbies.

The informal intro will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
