Mark your calendars: Voting for the 2016 Cappies opens April 1

It’s getting to be that time again, folks. No, not spring – well, yes, it is spring, but that’s not what we’re talking about. We’re talking about the always-popular and highly anticipated Cappies.

This is that time of year, more than any other, when we lean heavily on you, our faithful readers. We want to know what you love most about Concord – everything from your favorite brunch joint to your favorite place to get a root canal. We’ll take it all.

After all the votes have been tallied, winners will be announced in a special Cappies edition of the Insider on May 17. This is probably the edition you’ll want to save, have framed and displayed over your fireplace – whether you’re featured in it or not. The Cappies issues always go like hot cakes around here, so if you’re lucky enough to snag one before they’re gone, you’ll want to proudly show it off.

The real reason for writing this, though, is to let you know that voting officially opens April 1. Once that date rolls around, go to concordmonitor.com/cappies2016 to make your picks for Concord’s finest.

If you’ve got a pretty busy April Fools’ Day schedule (don’t we all?), don’t worry – voting is open until April 30. These aren’t decisions you want to rush through, anyway. After all, there’s boatloads of immortalizing Insider fame on the line here.

Oh yeah, and voting for the Cappies is a lot easier and much more fun than voting in the presidential election, so if you can only pick one, well, the decision is simple.
