Womeade of Concord to host Polar Plunge

Womenade of Concord is hosting its 2nd annual polar plunge fundraiser on Sunday, March 13, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at  Grappone Conference Center, 70 Constitution Ave.

As of Tuesday, there were more than 70 brave souls committed to jumping into a Sofpool filled with cold water in the conference center parking lot on Sunday. Luckily, the weather for this weekend looks to be seasonally warm (in the upper 50s at last check), so it might not be that bad – coming from people that won’t be jumping into a pool filled with cold water in the middle of March.

There is no cost to participate or attend so everyone is welcome. The goal is for people to pledge to watch their friend or family member plunge, so all donations are welcome. Donations can be made via check or at the Womeade website, womenadeconcord.org.

The event is a fundraiser for Womenade of Concord, so there will be a bake sale and refreshments available for purchase. It’s going to be a fun filled, family friendly event for a great cause.

The event is sponsored by Marriott Courtyard and Sofpool of NH. Check out the Womenade Facebook page (facebook.com/Womenade-of-Concord) and website  for more details and a complete list of local plungers whom are going to “Get Cold for a Cause.”

You can sign up to plunge until Thursday and donate at any time, so email womenadePolarPlunge@gmail.com to get involved.

The best dressed polar plunger will win a $50 gift card to Texas Roadhouse and a Starbucks Gift Card.
