Human Resources Assoc. meeting on Thursday

The members of the Human Resources Association of Greater Concord (HRAGC) will hold their monthly meeting at 7:45 a.m. on Thursday, April 16, in the Maine Room at 2 Delta Drive in Concord.

The program for this meeting, entitled “How to Prepare for – and Win – a Workers’ Compensation Hearing,” will provide participants with a unique and interactive program on preparing for a hearing from both the Human Resources and Legal points of view.

“Not everyone is familiar with the full breadth of the compensation hearing system,” says Fran Lefavour of Spectrum Consulting who, along with Charles Giacopelli, will be presenting the program. “Suspect or difficult workers’ compensation claims need attention from the beginning, and it’s important that HR professionals learn how to be prepared to present a case if it is disputed.”

Lefavour has extensive experience in human resources, and has served as an adjunct member of the University of New Hampshire Continuing Education staff. She has also served on the N.H. Department of Labor Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board. Giacopelli is an attorney who represents self-insured employers, traditionally insured businesses and government entities in all areas of workers’ compensation law.

The meeting will also include updates highlighting current human resource and organizational legal issues.
