Lo and behold, we publish a picture of the possum we found lurking in the Monitor parking lot last spring with mention of his movie deal and sudden shyness around paparazzi, and he appears again, sniffing around some recycling bins and enjoying some discovered french fries.
It’s impossible to know if this photo, sent to us from reader Patty Sisk, is of the same possum, but given the tone of the email – which was apparently written by the little guy himself – we tend to believe it is.
The email reads: “You looking for me?? You’d be surprised at some of the stuff I find in these recycle bins! Sometimes they leave me good stuff like these french fries!! Autographs by appointment only.”
We recommend making your appointment now. According to Sisk, the little guy has set up something of an office behind the bins at her house, stopping by nightly – though he does hide when people come and go – and is believed to be in a so far fruitless pursuit of empty cat food cans. The cats themselves have been “curious, but have managed to keep their distance,” Sisk said.
