If you were walking downtown last week, you may have noticed a festive holiday window pop up at 78 N. Main St.

You can thank the good people at Intown Concord for that. They’re the ones getting everyone downtown into the Christmassy spirit.

You may have also noticed the shiny metal Christmas tree in that window filled with decorative balls that included dollar amounts of $25 or more – along with green and red boxes with the phrase “Win the Window.”

And if you fill out the required passport, that’s exactly what could happen. Between now and Dec. 17, all you need to do is print out the passport from the Intown Concord website and get at least 40 stamps from the participating downtown businesses.

“Each prize is from a downtown business,” said Intown Concord’s operations manager, Liza Poinier. “There’s no cost, but you do have to do the work.”

Thirty of the stamps must be from businesses on North Main Street, and the other 10 from South Main Street establishments.

“We thought it would be more fun to spread the wealth,” Poinier said.

Turn in your passport by 4 p.m. on Dec. 17 at either New Hampshire Federal Credit Union at 47 N. Main St. or Double Midnight Comics (67 S. Main St.) to be officially entered. The winners will be drawn the same day.

“We’re really excited about this program, and not just because the window looks fabulous,” Poinier said.

With a total of more than $2,000 in prizes to give away, it’s definitely worth a day around town. Along with all the cool things you can buy for people on your list, the grand prize winner will receive a package worth about $1,200. There’s a total of four packages to be given away, including for the second and third passports to be drawn and a children’s prize for participants 18 and younger.

“It’s our first time for this,” Poinier said.
