Sign up for the third annual fire truck pull

Registration is now open for Concord Public Safety Foundation’s 3rd Annual Fire Truck Pull. Teams of 10 inpiduals will once again face off against a 45,000 pound City of Concord reserve fire truck. Registration is limited to 20 teams, who compete for the fastest time. The starting horn sounds on Saturday, July 19 at 10 a.m. as teams show their strength by pulling the truck along a section of Main Street during the Market Days Festival, crossing the finish line at the intersection of Pleasant and Main streets to a cheering crowd.

Competition will again be fierce, but all teams are ultimately pulling together to support the Concord Fire Department. The 2014 pull will continue to raise funds to ensure CFD can provide the fastest in service and response, no matter where an emergency happens, by acquiring a “Gator” truck. A “Gator” will allow CFD to better offer assistance and care off the beaten path in places like local hiking trails, at special events and when fighting brush fires.

Registration information for the 2014 Fire Truck Pull is available by visiting concordpublicsafety.org or e-mailing concordpublicsafety@gmail.com.
