N.H. Council on the Arts to offer two workshops

The N.H. State Council on the Arts is presenting two new workshops as part of its Artist Entrepreneurial Workshop series.

“The Art & Science of Light & Color for the Artist,” led by interdisciplinary artist and educator R.P. Hale, will explore the science behind light and color theory and how they can influence the important decisions artists make when creating artwork, lighting a studio or work space, and displaying artwork in exhibit and gallery spaces.

During “Your Music as Film Score,” local musicians who have composed for film and television will explain the basics of film production. Attendees will also learn about the creative process of film scoring, licensing and business issues, as well as how to find filmmakers and producers who might be interested in their work. The workshop is presented in partnership with the N.H. Film and Television office.

“The Art & Science of Light & Color for the Artist” takes place May 6, 10 a.m. to noon, and “Your Music as Film Score” takes place May 27, 10 a.m. to noon. Both workshops will be held at Plymouth State University’s College of Graduate Studies, 2 Pillsbury St.

There is no charge for the workshops and they are both open to the public, but advance registration is required.
