Puppies with a political pedigree

Avid readers and political junkies alike will remember Nelson, the Great Dane who rose to the position of canine mayor of Concord on a platform of skunk eradication. Well, Nelson’s handler/owner/dog mom Lindsay Hanson has quite the stable of canine candidates at her house; Olive, a dog Hanson has been fostering, recently gave birth to a litter of eight puppies – making a grand total of 12 dogs in Hanson’s 900-square-foot abode!

Even a rabid (okay, bad choice of words) dog-lover like Hanson has to draw the line somewhere; the new octo-mom hopes to find homes for the puppies rather than send them to the shelter. Otherwise, she told us, she’ll “unleash them and all of their puppy terror on a Concord City Council meeting.”

If you’d like to spare our councilors that cute, furry fury, email Hanson at lindsayhanson18@yahoo.com. She’d love to pass on these politically pedigreed pups to a new home. If you do get one of these dogs, we’d be honored if you used the Insider as part of their housebreaking training.
