Bulletin board: VNA offering children’s bereavement program

The Concord Regional Visiting Nurse Association is offering a children’s bereavement program “Remembrance Candles: Creative Expressions for Children” on July 29 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Concord Regional VNA Hospice House, Community Room, 240 Pleasant St.

Candles can create opportunities for healing rituals of remembrance for those who are grieving. Join us to create remembrance candles and explore additional ways to cope with a recent loss. This session is for children ages 6 and up, accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Pre-registration is required and space is limited. For additional information or to register, please call 224-4093, ext. 2828, or email carmella.dow@crvna.org.

In addition, the Concord Regional Visiting Nurse Association is offering men’s grief discussion groups Aug. 8 and Aug. 22 from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Concord Regional VNA Hospice House. The ongoing drop-in grief discussion groups are designed to help men who are adjusting after the loss of a spouse or significant other.

The VNA is also seeking volunteers to offer companionship and support to hospice patients The next training session begins Sept. 25, and the application deadline is August 7.
