Reader Deb LaValley has had her eye on this bob-tailed squirrel for a while now – and she finally got a photo of him! “The tail does not seem to be an injury,” LaValley said, “but a birth defect of some kind.  Perhaps the squirrel gene pool is a wee bit stagnant in the small wooded area behind my parents’ house.  We call it the ‘Squabbit’ because it hops like a bunny.” Thanks for the pic, Deb!
