A brighter future

The residents of CATCH Neighborhood Housing welcome a brighter future thanks to a donation of 1,626 energy efficient light bulbs.

The gift comes from Peter and Suzanne Ellinwood, owners of Green Poma. The energy-saving bulbs in various sizes, shapes and wattages are valued at more than $15,000 and will help reduce operating costs at CATCH's rental properties.

“This is one gift that really brightened our day,” said CATCH President Rosemary Heard. “CATCH is not only committed to affordable homes but to sustainable, energy-efficient homes and this is a major contribution to both.”

Recent CATCH projects include Friedman Court II in Concord, which was built according to EnergyStar and LEED standards designed to reduce energy use by 47 percent compared to traditional building designs.
