See you around next year, farmers’ market

The Penacook Farmers’ Market season has ended with the promise of a June 2011 return.

The Penacook Village Association would like to extend a huge thank you to the many people who contributed to the first year. Thank you shoppers from Penacook and the surrounding area, the members of the association who helped on Mondays and the farmers who took a chance that their Monday afternoons would be profitable throughout the summer and early fall.

A special round of applause goes out to those who gave more than their share of the time and energy needed for a smooth operation. This includes Warren and Dianna Leary, Peter Dodge, City Councilor Steve Shurtleff, Teri Maxwell, Sherry Cotton, Mary Capuano-Yates, Rick Jacques and Carol Foss. Mike Cotton (who found the participating vendors, coordinated advertising and oversaw the weekly operation) gets special credit.

The association also wants to thank the Penacook Historical Society for the use of the Rolfe Homestead on Penacook Street.

For more information about the market and the association, visit penacook.org.
