A special ceremony AND a movie? Wow!

On Oct. 23, join us at 7 p.m. in Sweeney Auditorium at NHTI when the NHTI library's Steelman Film Collection will be introduced during a special ceremony with guest Barry Steelman. A screening of “Cinema Paradiso” (PG, 1988, 124 mins.) will follow the ceremony. Admission is by donation.

Winning, among other accolades, the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, and acclaimed by filmgoers and critics alike as one of the most beloved and memorable movies, Director Giuseppe Tornatore's “Cinema Paradiso” is as fresh and moving today as it was in 1988. Told in flashback, a boy who grew up in a Sicilian village returns home as a famous movie director after receiving news about the death of an old and dear friend, Alfredo, the projectionist at the Cinema Paradiso. As the director reminiscences about his childhood, we are drawn into the larger questions of love, friendship, loss, memory, enduring relationships, art and the power of film to transform lives.

This event is sponsored by the NHTI Film Society. For more information, contact Steve Ambra at sambra@ccsnh.edu or 271-7185.
