Thank-you to Angela and John!

The Capitol Center for the Arts recently offered up two astonishingly patient and knowledgeable staff members for that most daunting of challenges: field trip duty.

Angela King and John Caruso joyfully ushered our pack of tired, inquisitive, spirited kiddos at lunchtime in a historic stroll through the gorgeous rooms of the Kimball House. After emerging unscathed from the secret library passageway and failing to crack the code on the massive safe, we tried our hand at performing onstage in the main theater. Confident no one was ready for an audience, our CUKE home school group instead explored the hidden bowels and alleyways of the theater, pretending to fix our makeup beneath the bright lights of the surprisingly minimalist dressing rooms and braving near hurricane force winds to see firsthand how those enormous sets get from truck to stage and back again.

An enormous thank you is due to Angela, John and the Capitol Center for throwing open your doors and welcoming us in. An amazing experience was enjoyed by all, and we eagerly anticipate our future role as audience members during the summertime children's programming.
