Dear Tweens,
The rule at Rundlett Middle School is that shorts should be mid-thigh and no shorter than if you had your arms at your sides. What do you think about this?

A good rule
I think this is a good rule because you can still wear short shorts as long as you wear leggings under them. Wearing inappropriate clothes is disrespectful and may offend some people. You can still wear shorts that are too short, just put leggings underneath.

Dear People who care:
Well, RMS girls, or many of them, wear short shorts. This rule doesn’t apply to me because I’m basically one of the guys, but to the girls who wear short shorts, they’re really just losing their dignity. If they want to, it should be their right. If they want to wear them and be okay with it, I don’t care.

An honest answer
Dear Tweens and
citizens of Concord,
I’m back! Yep, it’s Seimou, the shampoo man!
I loved the question this week because I can add something funny to it. The girls’ dress code is pretty important because now that it’s spring, more girls are wearing short shorts. The teachers think that it’s for the boys to see them. Part of it probably is, and half of it is because they want to look pretty because girls and ladies like to make themselves feel good. I’m a guy, so I’m not going to say I hate it because you wouldn’t believe me. But don’t worry, moms. I’m not going to check out your daughters.
In conclusion, I want the dress code to stay so I can keep my head in my schoolwork and sports.

Rotten rule
The rule at Rundlett STINKS, but I can really understand why it is there. My favorite pair of shorts are kind of short, but they aren’t dinky little shorts the size of underwear! I would never wear shorts like that, however, some girls think they are “cute” and wear them. I just wish we could wear shorter shorts at Rundlett so I could wear my cute jean shorts on hot and sticky days without leggings under them. Leggings AND shorts are just as bad as wearing pants when it’s 90 degrees outside.

Say yes to rules
I think that the rule of no short shorts is a great rule and should be enforced on everyone. The way that students dress is a reflection upon the school. The rule creates a problem, though. It is very hard to find shorts that are within the dress code, and you have to like them as well. My mom and dad have always enforced that rule on me and, though sometimes I might not like it, I always agree with it.

She concurs
I think that the rule about not wearing shorts that are showing too much of your thighs is good. Wearing short shorts is showing way too much of your thighs. That’s not right. Some people can be offended by that, especially when you are in school, because it can be a distraction from learning. And you get sent home to change.
If we have a rule, I think the administrators should enforce it and take action and do something about it.

Freedom for all
I think that this rule isn’t too bad, but personally, I think that we should have our freedom. As long as our rear ends aren’t hanging out, I think we should be able to wear short shorts.
