Last year, generous support from the Friends of the Henniker Concert Series made it possible to add a 13th concert to the schedule. This year, we aim to do it again — and with your help, we can!

Every Tuesday night from June 16 to September 1, the Henniker Summer Concert Series will fill Angela Robinson Bandstand in Community Park with music, fun, and connection.

With audiences of all ages, ranging from 200 to 700 people each week, it’s the largest
community event in Henniker during the summer. It all began modestly 46 years ago when New England College Professor of Music Angela Robinson revived a 19th-century tradition of hosting outdoor community concerts. When volunteer musicians no longer were available, the town of Henniker provided initial funding for Angela to hire local bands so the series could continue. From those humble beginnings on the lawn of the NEC Administration Building, the series has grown over the years, with support from the business community and the Friends, to engage some of the region’s most exciting
performers. Now, the bands perform in the aptly named Angela Robinson Bandstand, gifted to the town by her husband, the late Walter Robinson. Although Angela and Walter are no longer with us, the tradition and magic of music continues.
