Laughing matters at the Audi

Last fall, the Walker Lecture Fund commissioned Betty Thomson to produce the kickoff event of the season, her musical review “The 1944 Big Band Comedy Canteen.” The Concord Community Players produced the musical, and it was a phenomenal success . . . so much so that the Walker Lecture Fund has asked Betty to come back and do another season kick-off show again this year! The show begins the 114th season of the Walker Lecture Series. All shows from the series are free and open to the public.

The “Laughing Matters” performers include Mary Case, Michael Copello, Paula Demers, Eric Halter, Maggie Murphy, Anne Orio, Russ Rattray, Jim Rogato, Sue Sartorelli, Doug Schwarz, Marc Willis and Mindy Wolfe. Jed Holland is once again joining the team as music director.

The curtain goes up for only two performances at the Concord City Auditorium, 2 Prince St. See it on Sept. 24 at 8 p.m. and Sept. 26 at 2 p.m.
