Beo String Quartet, sponsored by Milestone Engineering, will perform a matinee performance on Saturday, January 31 at 2 p.m., at the Concord City Auditorium as part of the CCCA’s 95th season. The Beo String Quartet is one of the most dynamic and genredefying chamber ensembles performing today. Founded in 2015, Beo blends impeccable classical technique with bold contemporary innovation — including electronics, spatial audio, and adventurous commissioning — creating performances that resonate with both traditional and modern audiences.

The nonprofit board of Concord Community Concerts has kept individual ticket prices at the door at $20 a seat and season membership for five live concerts at $65 ($13 a concert) with students 18 and under free. The board is able to do this with generous support from donors and corporate partners, which include The Abbott Bennett Group, Bow Plumbing and Heating, Prescott Heating Oil & Propane, Elektrisola, Avaloch Farm Music Institute, Merrimack County Savings Bank, Milestone Engineering, Delta Dental, Twelve 31 Events, Walker Lecture Series, Quality Press, Shaw’s, The J.Henry Hanhisalo Charitable Trust and The Bagan Foundation.

With more than 65 world premieres, collaborations with leading composers such as Missy Mazzoli and Richard Danielpour, and a rapidly growing national presence, Beo String Quartet is redefining what a string quartet can be. Their acclaimed educational programs have reached more than 3,500 students, further cementing their role as ambassadors for the future of chamber music. Beo’s name means “to make happy” — and audiences across the country are discovering just how true that is.

Upcoming CCCA concerts at the City Auditorium include “Linday & Jason” on the violin and piano, sponsored by Avaloch Farm Music Institute, on March 7 at 7:30 p.m. and the country tribute band, “Here Come the Judds,” sponsored by Elektrisola on April 11 at 7:30 p.m. More information online at www.ccca-audi.org

This year, the CCCA has expanded youth outreach performances from one to two area schools thanks to the Abigail B. and Timothy Walker Lecture Fund. The Beo String Quartet and Lindsay & Jason (violin and piano) will be offering opportunities for students to speak directly to world class performers while they demonstrate their performance techniques at local schools. This year Merrimack Valley High School and Bow High School are hosting performances by these artists. For students who cannot come to the Concord City Auditorium, this opportunity brings the artists to their schools. Eleven high schools are also given free tickets to distribute to students able to attend a CCCA concert at the Concord City Auditorium.
