The Tripping Souls is the brainchild of Concord native Paul Makris, who played all the music and sang all the vocals on this EP. Throughout the record, there is a clear sense of longing for a time that is slipping away from Makris; each track reads like a fond remembrance or a mournful regret of his past, whether itโ€™s a physical place (โ€œThe Riverbedโ€ and โ€œPlace That I Loveโ€) or something more ethereal (โ€œItโ€™s Changedโ€).

The sound itself is no different, thematically; the mature jam rock is reminiscent of the post-Nirvana mid-โ€™90s scene with a hint of a โ€™70s Brit-pop-punk hybrid. Itโ€™s as if Makris reached back through time, grabbed tattered snippets of memory and wove them into song. For more info, visit thetrippingsouls.com.
