We gave the Friends Auction plenty of love in this issue, but we would face some sleepless nights if we didn’t mention these four other auctions happening this month. Did we miss your May auction? E-mail us at news@theconcordinsider.com and we’ll add you to our list online. Be sure to put “auction” in the subject line.
– Do some silent bidding at the Granite State Symphony Orchestra’s spring concert “The Violin Times Two!” on May 8 at 8 p.m., at the Concord City Auditorium, 2 Prince St. The final concert of the season will feature violinists Elliott Markow and Gerry Mordis. All proceeds will benefit the orchestra. Tickets are $7 to $33. For more information, visit gsso.org or call 226-4776.
– A girls’ night out will be held at the Capitol Center for the Arts, 44 S. Main St., on May 14 at 7 p.m. Not only will there be a silent auction, but the night will include pampering, shopping, appetizers, desserts and more. Tickets are $20. For more information, e-mail Jean Rich at jjbow2000@aol.com.
– You’ll find more than good deals at the silent auction the Concordia Lutheran Church, 211 N. Main St., is planning for May 22 at 5 p.m. Church members will feed you piles of homemade Swedish meatballs while the silent bidding is underway. Tickets are $8, $4 for children. Bring a kitchen item to donate (pots, pans, dishes, utensils, etc.) and receive $1 off your ticket price. For details, call 224-0277.
– Support Capital City Children’s Camp – a free summer camp for kids 6 to 11 years old held at Word of Life Christian Fellowship, 95 Old Loudon Road. Drop in from May 23 to 30 to bid on silent auction items donated by local (and not so local) businesses.
On May 30 at 3 p.m., the highest bidder will take something home. For more information, visit ccchildrenscamp.info or call 228-2444, ext. 10.
